Last year's X-mas. season, I was impressed by MUK's SHAKOBA-branch. It remebered their dead headmaster and other dead teachers.
We should have memorabilia, also in form of events;
- Memorial lectures.
- Memorial prayers e.g services, masses, 'duwas' etc.
- Memorial games, especially cricket.
- Memorial etc.
We could also have magazines for MOBA and the SCHOOL's. Kings College Buddo (KCB), has The Nnagalabi Times for the Old Budonians. Still about the Old Budonians, they sold off a plot of land donated to them by their late old student, the Kabaka, Sir. Edward Muteesa I @ Mmengo-Kisenyi, to run other projects, say; having a meeting joint near SAKS Pub & SAS Clinic, along Bombo Raod in K'la.'s CBD, there's a van of Buddo Junior which was donated by them etc.
The one singlemost thing I demand from BCM, are our certificates as the Executive Committee of the Biology Club for the period 1999-2000. This due to the fact that we tried to revolutionalise the involvement / mebership of that club. One c'd. ask how?
We;
- Included the O'level students.
- We organised & had a multiregional A'level seminar i.e schools from Central [e.g. Gyza (Gayaza High School & Ndejje.S.S)- & Eastern Uganda (Major schools between the Nile & Mt. Elgon, especially Tororo Gils, Iganga Girls, Wanyange Girls, JICO, Jinja.S.S., Kira College-Butiki etc.). We also attended other A-level Bios. seminars.
- We left a plan of labelling botanical- & binomial names on; trees, resting sites of domestic animmals at the SCHOOL's farm, species in the salvo (along the slope of the HILL) etc. .
The guys I can re-call under my chairmanship included; Dr. Ndiwalana, Wegoye Andrew, Kazira Bernard, Muzira Philemon, Lubale etc. Infact, we left photographic portraits of that A-level Bios. seminar (which was the 1st. & last, till now) in the Biology lab. & at the patron (Head of Department-Biology)'s office though all were pushed to the same place i.e patron's office. That's the other major taint, I have about the SCHOOL. I'll get the scans of thyat momentus Saturday when we had that seminar.
I do believe that if each one of us provides what he can (or feels to be pragmatic), BCM will even surpass the golden eras e.g that of George Kayondo (R.I.P.).
That's all from me. Have a nice weekend (i.e. Frayo., Sato. & Sunday). My apologies for not attending the Centennial celebrations on the 24/9/2011 for I had lost my maternal grandma on the 21st/9/2011 BUT I do believe that the SCHOOL will indeed manouvre the hard times it has been- & is undergoing.
