Facts about the New Busoga College Mwiri Head-teacher:

It took two years for the stakeholders at the strategic level to
Identify a head teacher that would take back Mwiri to its place
(that’s being one of the leading schools in Africa, in the provision
of holistic education).

He is none other than Rotarian Wamala Lule George.
Born on the 30th October 1959.
He has a Dip. In Educ (English/Georg), a Bachelor of Education
(Geography, Educational Management & Administration) and is currently
winding up with his Ph.D.

He has attended several short courses, workshops and seminars on
school education, administration, planning and management from within
and outside Uganda.

He has attended a number of international conferences on ICT, UNESCO
African Institutions Research, Conventions of African Principals,
Building Education Bridges in Africa, I.C.P. and Rotary.

He is a God fearing Christian, a proactive and results oriented team leader.

His next of Kin is the Right Rev. Dr. George Ssenabulya-Retired Bishop
of Central Buganda Diocese.

He was supposed to go to either Mengo S.S.S or Kyambogo College, owing
to the fact that these two schools had lobbied for him; thank God the
Ministry insisted that Mwiri needed him more, after thorough lobbying
by a Section of Old boys and stakeholders.

In 1983, he was a Part time teacher at Kibibi S.S.S.
Between 1985-88, he served as a teacher at Masaka S.S.S.
1988-93, he served as a Deputy Headteacher at Kibibi S.S.S.
1993-99, he was the school head teacher at Mpenga S.S.S. Mpigi
District, where he increased the school enrolment from 183-560.
1999-2001, he served as head teacher at Nakanyonyi S.S.S. in Mukono
District, where he almost doubled the school population from 181-350.

He was at Lubiri SSS (Feb, 2001-Dec 2007) and Kako SSS (Feb 2008-Dec
2011)before moving to Mwiri in January, 2012.

Achievements at Lubiri SSS:
• Completed an HSC Storeyed Class Room Block,
• Installed VSAT-DW 4020 internet,
• Purchased a school bus, Scania F-330 UAH 883P Model 2006,
• Ensured timely payment of staff allowances,
• Expanded staff quarters,
• Established the office for records and examination management,
• Established a school farm,
• Increased school population from 1715-3034 students,
• Purchased a standby generator,
• Established the official residence of the Head teacher,
• Equipped the school library and laboratories,
• Extended the play-ground,
• Purchased a new cyclostyling machine (RISO RZ-200),
• Repaired staff room chairs and purchased new ones,
• Constructed a girls’ hostel,
• Secured a land-title for the school,
• Acquired new computers for the school,
• Built a school website,
• Renovated teachers’ houses, classrooms and laboratories,
• Expanded the art room,
• Constructed offices for the DOS, Bursar and the Dean for records and
statistics,
• Renovated and furnished the HM and Deputy’s offices,
• Furnished classrooms, classes and laboratories,
• Purchased a saloon car for school routine work,
• Encouraged most teachers to upgrade from Bachelors to Masters,
• Improved school discipline and academic performance,
• Expanded play ground and tarmaced the basket ball court,
• Increased school participation in sports and MDD,
• Introduced a central store,
• Constructed the S.1/S.5 Annex Block-2,

Achievements while H/M at Kako SSS-Masaka
• Bought a 62 seater Isuzu School Bus and a Generator,
• Repaired the water system from Gogonya, by replacing the worn-out
metallic pipes with plastic pipes.
• Renovated and painted the administration Block, Library, Dining
Hall, S.1 Classroom Block and the Sickbay,
• Repaired both the HM and DHM’S Residences,
• Enlarged the staffroom and constructed the DOS’ office,
• Initiated the tree planting project,
• Improved school enrolment.
• Rehabilitated and fenced the school farm, bought 2 heifers for the school,
• Opened up a coordination office in Kampala-Mengo Balintuma Road
Kanan house building near Ndejje University,
• Obtained capital development (200M) for the rehabilitation of the
school laboratory, Administration Block and Classes from the MOE.

In West Buganda Diocese
• Was Vice Chairman of the house of the laity in St. Paul’s Cathedral-Kako,
• Was a Member of the Diocesan Board of Education,
• Was Chairman-West Buganda Diocese Senior Secondary Schools and H/Ms’
Association of Masaka,
• Was member of the construction Committee of Plot 17 (West Buganda
Diocese Development Project) in Masaka town,
• Was a member of the Synod, West Buganda Diocese.
Currently Headteacher at Busoga College Mwiri

Work done sofar:
• Has repaired the school Lorry and School Coaster,
• Has given a face lift to the school administration block and the
entire face of the offices (Work in progress),
• Paid salaries and wages, for staff from the month of October, 2012 to date,
• Has already drawn the 10 year revised plan,
• Convened the B.O.G to plan for the school,
• Has cleared part of the outstanding school debt,
• Has renovated the H/M’S residence,
• During his tenure, the MOE has added a third Deputy H/M to BCM (Mr.
Isabirye Christopher) who is in Charge of Academics.
• Has ushered in the repair of the Mwiri Road from Wairaka to the
school gate by Kakira Town Council, where an old boy is the sitting
Mayor.

He speaks and writes English, Luganda, Swahiri, Runyankore and Rukiga.

• Rotarian, belonging to Rotary Club of Mengo,

His hobbies include among others:

Wow,
That is one great CV and I see he is an achiever.
My only prayer is that he gets a team of like-minded people; people who do not settle for second best. I pray that all the staff and OBs and well-wishers give him all the support he needs.
You are in our Prayers MR HM. Discipline breeds good works all the way from the teachers to the students. Remember SPARE THE ROD AND SPOIL THE CHILD.
