Hello Everyone!

We are getting close to the abstract submission due date (15 April 2024) for oral and poster presentations for the Snake Ecology Group VII Conference to be held 23-25 June 2024 in Sawyer County, Wisconsin. This is shaping up to be a GREAT meeting with a wide diversity of snake ecology topics and many countries represented. Don’t hesitate to register to come in-person or attend virtually. Registration is a separate form from abstract submission. Remember, you can even submit an oral presentation if you cannot attend in person by joining us live on Zoom or submitting a pre-recorded presentation. Posters can be mailed or we can print them for you for a small fee to cover the supplies.

Some of the field trips are proving popular, so please let us know if you would like to attend one and didn’t include it on your registration. This will be an opportunity to experience the Northwoods (an underappreciated habitat is my opinion) and see some amazing snakes (and other reptiles and amphibians). Don’t shy away from the golf outing…there is no pressure to play golf and this is an amazing site to find snakes, frogs, birds and mammals. Even a moose has lumbered through the course (they are not even regularly found in Wisconsin)!

Please reserve your lodging if you plan to not camp at our site during the conference. We are able to provide tents for those traveling that would like to stay right in the woods.

Our location is a little remote, so consider our shuttles to get you from the MSP airport and back or to travel on to the SSAR/MWPARC conference following our conference.

Remember to consider donating items for our silent auction (books, original prints, art, etc.). Funds from the auction will be given to students attending the conference in-person to help offset their travel expenses. You also can make a donation to help students with their travel here.

If you have any questions, please check the website or don’t hesitate to email us!

See you in June!!

Julie
