Dear
Friends and Colleagues,
The
Disability Inclusion Assistance Fund (DIAF) is a funding mechanism supported by
the Australian Agency for International Assistance (AusAID) and managed by the
Australian Red Cross (ARC). The
goal of the DIAF is to reduce the vulnerability of persons with disability
including landmine and explosive remnants of war (ERW) survivors, their
families and affected communities in Cambodia. The DIAF is a component of the
Cambodia Initiative for Disability Inclusion (CIDI). Following the success of our current
DIAF round, we are calling for submission of new targeted and non targeted
proposals for 2011-2012. This year the DIAF will comprise a series of targeted
and non targeted calls
The
targeted calls are for projects within the following areas:
·
Developing Capacities for women and girls
with disability
·
Capacity development of small DPOs via a network
organisation
·
The expansion of disability projects/services
to remote and underserved geographical areas.
The
non targeted calls will support the inclusion of disability in
mainstream development initiatives (i.e. disability mainstreaming) to ensure
that people with disabilities can participate in and benefit from mainstream
development initiatives on an equal basis with others. Applications
should be from a partnership between a mainstream development organisation and
a disability-specific organisation (e.g. DPO), or an organisation with a
significant track record in working with people with disability. They should
foster longer term partnerships that integrate disability into mainstream
development planning.
All
DIAF grants are open to registered local and international NGOs.
Targeted
are up to $20,000, with the exception of the targeted capacity development of
small DPOs grant, which is up to $35,000. Non Targeted are up to $35,000
All
projects are for 12 months duration – starting from July 1st
2011
