Hi, MVPA experts,

I have read through your manual, but I'm still confused on how to design "regressor" and "runs" matrix when I'm interested in classify subjects but not brain states.

This is my situation: I have a dataset with healthy controls and patients. I have their 3D MRI data. I want explore if MVPA can help me to classify if a subject is a patient or a control. How should I design regressor and runs matrix to put into you toolbox? Thanks.

Lanxin.

Although the tutorials (and probably most of us) work with a single subject per structure, you could load your subjects as different "time points" of a pattern in a single structure. Then the regressor would define control vs. patient, and runs could be used to designate how you want to cross-validate (i.e. divide the groups into smaller sub-groups, or leave one subject out at a time). Hopefully that helps!
Best,
Jeff
