On one side, in response to the recent "Java is unsafe" rage that we're seeing, and now USDHS recommending removal of Java for national security reasons, a lot of people been saying : "This isn't recent, Java has Never been safe."

 

On the other hand, I'm getting almost daily updates from Oracle and curious about how this is going to shake out.

 

Some of those remote support offerings we discussed recently rely on Java, and yet I've recently disabled Java in my browsers just to see where I really need it.

 

This is going to be interesting.

Kind of like Windows itself, yet no gov't body is telling people to stop using it.

Makes you wonder about the US gov't.  I hear that now it's a federal offence to unlock the cell phone that *you own* from the carrier it came glued to.  I bet it's even a death sentence in some states. ;)  Gotta love those powerful lobby groups that brought you the DMCA.
