Hi Everyone,
I am currently refreshing my knowledge of UniData and UniBasic and preparing for interviews in this domain. I would really appreciate it if anyone could share:
Common interview questions related to UniData/UniBasic
Any reference materials, guides, or best practices
If you have experience interviewing for UniData-related roles, your insights would be extremely valuable!
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best regards,
Deepa Krishnankutty
A few I used to use:
Discuss Global Common pluses and minuses; and coding techniques to avoid potential pitfalls. (answer should include performance on the plus side; naming conflicts on the downside; use of includes and special naming conventions [we use <tag>$<varname> in all global common names for example, where the <tag> is unique to that include).
Then there’s the related use of Equates for file/attribute definitions: what coding conventions or techniques can be used to avoid pitfalls (in particular, to avoid using ‘Record<123>’ in the code)?
(answers should include use of ‘matparse/matbuild’ into static arrays where the names are equated using a similar patter to the global commons [the method we use); or equates with at least the numbers equated to unique names).
Other misc concepts they should know:
