Tony did post into the u2ug mail list. I think it is the most active MV list out there and certainly represents the bulk of all MV people. In the past there has been a lot of opposition to moving it to a google group – even tho it still has mail list functionality just the same as it has now …

Notices have been published in these forums: TigerLogic
(D3/mvBase), Reality, jBase, Caché, U2 (tech, not community)
Soon: QM, OpenInsight, LinkedIn (a few groups)
For two months I plan to post one brief reply to the above
notices, just as a courteous but non-spammy reminder.
I also worked up a press release for Spectrum, in collaboration
with David Ruggiero (creator of CDP), though I haven't sent it in
yet. They are mid-cycle and there isn't any rush.
Twitter is another venue for notifications - Elkie and I have
tweeted with hash tags #mvdbms and #multivalue.
And yes, I updated PickWiki.
I will not post notes to third-party product forums as I think
anyone in one of those groups is likely to also be subscribed to
a DBMS forum.
Over time I will encourage the DBMS providers to notify their
channel of the existence of this forum. I'm hoping they see it
as an environment which properly represents their industry, and
one which will add value to their offering.
Finally, in another thread here soon, I will recommend that VARs
begin to invite their end-user base to this forum for the same
reasons as above.
That's my personal plan. Suggestions are welcome as well as
personal initiatives - this does after all belong to everyone.
I see Dawn posted a note to the MultiValue Google Group.
Thanks Dawn!!
The LinkedIn groups are quite large, surprising to me. I don't
intend to try to draw those people here as an alternative, but to
make this a supplemental resource.
And that is exactly the way I have been pitching this to the DBMS
forums. MVDBMS is a central hub to augment other media, not to
replace others - except of course for CDP which has been begging
for retirement for a few years now.
If the U2-Community people are still talking about Pick, then
sure, we can invite them here. If that's a social outlet for
colleagues I'd rather see this forum maintain a more
business/technical (=valuable) orientation.
Did I miss any points?
Thanks for the note, Kevin!
