Hello Mountain View Coalition for Sustainable Planning,
Happy New Year!
My name is Erica, and I am reaching out on behalf of Santa Clara County. Santa Clara County is currently updating its Circulation Mobility Element (CME), a long-range planning effort focused on how people move within and throughout the county today and how we can plan for a more accessible, equitable, and sustainable mobility future. A brief fact sheet is attached for reference, and the project website will be live shortly with additional information.
As part of this effort, we are seeking input from advocacy organizations like Mountain View Coalition for Sustainable Planning that work on transportation, mobility, equity, environmental justice, public health, and related issues impacting Santa Clara County residents. We would like to invite one or two representatives from your organization to participate in a virtual focus group meeting to inform the development of policy statements for the County.
The purpose of the focus group is to hear directly from advocacy leaders about community needs, priorities, and challenges related to driving, walking, biking, rolling, and transit within Santa Clara County. Your organization’s perspective will help inform the CME and ensure it reflects lived experiences and shared advocacy goals.
Participation would involve:
  • Attending a 90-minute virtual focus group
  • Sharing your organization’s insights related to mobility and transportation in Santa Clara County
  • Letting us know in advance if language interpretation is needed (Santa Clara County will provide interpreters with notice)

To make scheduling as easy as possible, we have created a Doodle poll with several date and time options. The focus group will last approximately 90 minutes (including log-in time and any needed language assistance), and will be scheduled for one of the following options:
Midday options (12:00–1:30 PM):
  • Wednesday, February 25
  • Wednesday, March 4

Evening options (6:00–7:30 PM):
  • Tuesday, February 24
  • Tuesday, March 3

Please use the Doodle poll link below to indicate which times work for you and your team:
Click here to select your preference: https://doodle.com/group-poll/participate/eEX9MGYd

We will select the date and time that works best for most participants and will send out a confirmation email once it is scheduled.
To thank participants for their time, Santa Clara County will offer a $50 Safeway gift card to each focus group participant (limited to two participants per organization).
If you have any questions or would like additional information before participating, we are happy to connect. Thank you for considering this opportunity to contribute to the CME. We appreciate your time and perspective.

Thank you,
Erica Mitchell
