EmailTemplateService renders always renders subject line as html

Hi,

 

I suspect this is more of a Razor issue than Contrib, but I'm having problems rendering the subject line using the EmailTemplateService object.  Basically, some of my data has an & in it and after the EmailTemplateService renders it is always &.  I've trying placing Html.Raw around the data in the view, but no luck.  I'd really appreciate anyones input on this.
