I'm currently reading MVC (1) in Action and so far it's a great read.
However, the one thing that constantly jars is the use of the word
'leverage' as a verb which is completely meaningless. Why not use a
real verb that means something such as 'use' or 'implement'. Please
read these blog posts:
http://leveragethis.wordpress.com/2007/09/12/leverage-is-not-a-verb/
http://smyword.com/2010/01/are-you-stupid-enough-to-use-leverage-as-a-verb/

Hopefully after reading these blogs you'll replace all uses of
'leverage' with a real verb that actually means something and MVC 2 in
Action will be better for it.
This same goes for any other Manning book if Manning are reading this
post.

Phil,
We did overuse "leverage", and the publisher caught quite a few and changed it to the word "use".  We also use "pressure" and "force" as verbs.  The publisher is a big-time grammar buff, and they have lots of opinions on grammar.  They are a publisher; that's what they do.

I can't commit to abolishing the word "leverage" as a verb.  Sorry.

Best regards,
Jeffrey Palermo
