Thanks to Gary for taking notes.

scarce -> scare-ce

List of water hogs. Shame them into reducing water usage.

James - Water harvesting. Rainfall is not enough to make it economically feasible. Better to let the water recharge the ground. Compare to Austin Texas (20 inches).

James - Graywater. In Berlin the Graywater can be run into the toilet. Don't have to worry about the bacteria this way, since it's already waste. Can't think of any US city that does this.

Deb - Hotline - Suggest a web form as a lower maintenance and anonymous version. For MakeMountainView Beautiful booklet. If you're using dead trees to do this, then be efficient in space layout. She has ideas for the current webpage, so you can talk with her to get a 20 minute discussion of ideas. She likes the better bill template. Suggests getting together with Waste/Recycling people and have a consistent bill layout between the two. Mountain View could waive the 1 acre limitation on the conversion to native plants rebate.  Weather Information... the information could also come from Moffett, but the microclimate is somewhat different.

Liz - Cuesta Park? There are two possible locations for the weather station. Someone is offering to pay for it? The county?

Cynthia - She likes pavers for residential but not for city locations due to handicap accessibility.

Aileen - Some european locations now have slightly looser packing in cobblestones to allow better runoff. 2 fulltime staff? How about also other conservation focuses as well? If you consolidate the suggestion, you can get fewer people doing the tasks of 12*2 people sustainability groups worth of staffing requests. Synergy with the Outreach group's outreach volunteers? Synergy with Outreach's comprehensive webpage. Cross-link these.

Concerned that people will use more herbicides to get rid of the weeds that grow between pavers. Some people in MTV are in the California Water Service district?

Randy - Will talk details on Graywater offline. His client base has been making efficiency improvements. Concerned that a 20% reduction requirement based on "now" penalizes them unnecessarily.

Ignacio - 700 Watts / Gallon should be 700 Wh / Gallon.

Bruce - He's not sure that the numbers are accurate considering the cost per watt. Yearly input from Daylight Savings.... also put in there to increase / reduce your watering. People forget to reduce the watering. We have 3 tiers of pricing on water. We should have 5 and with much more exorbitant rates. Sewage vs Treated Sewage. Make sure to mark it as treated. Astroturf being marked as child friendly or not. They are a good play surface like grass, but they don't require water.

Steve Attinger - Marking water usage in units? Mark in gallons instead. Is it only tracked in "units"? It's not very granular, and hard to determine the benefits of improvements. Steve has something about Graywater residential permits. Weather based irrigation. talking about it in the MTV Green Team. Satellite controlled community irrigation?  Instead install moisture sensors.

Needs to be strategic oversight of the water conservation. Not just a technician.

Wifi Water Meters? Fridge magnets?

Person1 - Difference in energy usage between water used for irrigation and the energy used for treated wastewater. Calculate it more finely so it's not misleading. Energy committee wanted energy audits. Synergy with water audits. Bumper Sticker. He likes it. He also wants a door hanger for a passive-aggressive hanger to put on someone's doorknob. Put it on your neighbors' houses. Make sure to discourage bottled water. Want to put something to encourage using tapwater instead. Palo Alto has an ordinance to dual-plumb commercial buildings. Not a requirement to put it in the toilets, but for new construction is a requirement? Synergy with Built Environment. Research on Astroturf, not all sweetness and light. They are nonpermeable membranes, so everything underneath dies. There's no plan for end of life for the astroturf... question about landfill. Trees also collect runoff. LA is planting trees to reduce requirements for runoff.

Elisa Peters (Built) - Not on their list. Requiring residential folks to change fixtures (aerator, etc). Lots of interest in Graywater. Really likes graywater in toilets.

5 year program to change water meters? If they aren't granular enough to address Steve's concern, then we should change the plan now instead of later. Drought tolerant landscaping. Edible Landscaping? How about something that meets both requirements. Adding a sheet of paper into the water bill has some benefits, but it is junkmail so it should probably be on the bill itself in the whitespace you indicate. Focus on the smallest piece of paper that will communicate the message, instead of the largest amount that will fit in the postage requirement.

water meter. Not just the water meter that has the reduced granularity, it's also the bill.
