It is section 35.28.4.3

 

“Use of water through a hose for the cleaning of sidewalks, driveways, patios, parking lots

or other paved or hard-surfaced areas and for washing cars, buses, boats, trailers or other

vehicles without a positive shutoff valve on the outlet end of the hose.”

 

I normally fill out a warning notice and give it to the person in charge after explaining the situation.

Thanks, Tom! Could you me which part of the City code you employ for enforcement on this point? This could help with ongoing Council Environmental Sustainability Committee efforts (which I'm participating in as a community volunteer). For example, is it:
Wasting potable water by allowing it to run off into gutters, sidewalks, streets or other hard-surfaced areas (MVCC Section 35.28.4.2)?
