Composting newsgroup?

Hi,

I'm hoping that someone on this list might be able to point me in the
right direction. I'm wondering if there is a newsgroup for
home-composting enthusiasts. I'd love to join such a thing if it
exists.

Hello Lauren:

I don't know of such a group, but, in case you aren't aware of it, the
County runs composting classes in Mountain View, and the next sessions
are scheduled for July 18th, August 15th, and September 19th. You can
sign up or ask for info at 408-918-4640 or com...@aem.sccgov.org.

Also, if you want to consider starting a specific group through Green
Mountain View (http://www.greenmountainview.org), I'd certainly love
to speak with you about it.

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for your reply! I attended one of the County's composting
workshops, and I've been an avid worm/backyard composter for a couple
of years. I would be interested in starting a discussion group,
although I don't bring any particular expertise to it, just a strong
interest.

I'd love a group where I could post questions (e.g. "What are the
white/grey larvae I just found in my bin?" Answer: soldier-fly
larvae) and swap recommendations on foods worms love, etc.

program. Sarah organizes the master composters and may know of some
type of discussion group, or might have some tips for getting one

Hi Sarah, I'm interested in starting an email list for home composters
-- something casual where we can exchange ideas and ask questions of
one another. I have received a few suggestions to start a group
within the Green Mountain View initiative, and I'd be happy to do
that, but I wanted to check with you on whether such a group already
exists and/or whether you have advice for me.
