Hello all former waste working group members et al:
I'm not sure if this is something you'd like to aware of or respond to, but I'm passing it along for your reference in any case.
Bye for now!

i suggested if brett isn't interested in moving to palo alto... he see if his daughter might want to write the san jose city council (committee considering reusable bag options 8/24) and write paul rogers a thank you for his plastic ocean trash story today

All,

Here are a couple of attachments from the City of Monterey that may be of interest to both the WMI-Zero Trash folks and the SCVURPPP Trash Ad Hoc Task Group.

My daughter was at the Young Women in Science program last week at the Monterey Bay Aquarium continuing her education in oceanography, environmental  stewardship, pollution prevention, and leadership training all mixed in with some sailing, kayaking, boogie boarding and bantering around behind the scenes at the Aquarium.

She went on a field trip to the Waste Management facility in Seaside one morning and learned about the various recycling programs such as the ìLast Chance Mercantileî at the landfill and also learned about legislative actions to control plastic food containers.  Of course I had to field the questions of why we donít have a plastic bag ban or plastic food container ban here Ö  my weak explanation earned me a 14 year olds disapproving frown.

Brett
