Hello all,
What would it take to get you or your community to share transportation? Personally, I don't think this is easy at all in our culture. What I am interested in about the tool that will be featured in the presentation at Tuesdays May 12 In depth Dialogue, is how this tool might be used within a community--such as a non profit-- to facilitate ride sharing. In a place where you and others regularly attend a meeting/event.

Hope to see you there.

Greetings!
Hope you can join us for our May 12, In-Depth Dialogue on Sustainable Transportation.

Tuesday May 12th, 2009
6:30pm -7:00pm Networking
7:00pm to 8:00, Intro & Presentation
8:00pm to 9:00, Group Dialogue

About the Speaker
John Zimmer, 25 year old co-founder of Zimride moved from New York City to Palo Alto last summer by carpooling across the country.  John left Lehman Brothers in early 2008, where he spent two years after graduating first in his class from Cornell University's Hotel School.

Event Summary
Whereas the previous generation used yearbooks, we now use Facebook. The past generation went hitchhiking, now we have ridesharing. The concept of  Zimride is simple: leverage the trust inherent in online social networks to drive carpooling into the mainstream as a means of transportation.
Zimride is based on the emerging social networking phenomenon, and is built on Facebook's platform. John will discuss the emergence of the concept for Zimride, the business case, case study, traction for Zimride partnerships, and future of the industry.
