That the library stops using paper towels? Could solar panels supply the library with electricity?

Just asking.

To the Task Force,

Thanks, Steve, for posting the info about the Action Team meeting.
Although I am unlikely to be able to attend future meetings because I
need to focus efforts on making my own business sustainable I would
like to encourage those involved to continue to provide active
updates via email. I think this is an important part of
communications and outreach. I for one am definitely lurking/
listening and appreciate being kept informed of the Task Force and
any offshoot citizen activities that are spawned by it. I am sure
there are others out here too that may not be attending but will also
benefit from the information, and may be compelled to action when it
works for them.

To Paul,

I am not a City representative, I was just a member-at-large on the
community Task Force, and will say that your suggestions are
definitely possible. The question then becomes are they feasible in
terms of a true cost benefit analysis. Over the past year the Task
Force put together a very in-depth report that analyzes diverse
sustainability factors in the City, and now the City is reviewing all
of the recommendations to see what and how to implement the most
beneficial ones. If you have not done so already I highly suggest you
check out the report available on the City website. Here's a direct
link to the Environmental Sustainability Task Force's recommendations

You can also find a link to the above PDF as well as additional
information here:

And if you can, I encourage you to attend the citizen action meeting
Steve just announced on this list:
Date/Time: Wednesday, January 14th, 6:30pm (to no later than 9pm)
Location: City Hall Plaza Conference Room (500 Castro St.,
Mt. View. 2nd floor, across from the top of the main stairs)

I know you have been involved with the reusable bag campaign at the
farmers market and I'm thankful for your efforts!

Happy Holidays to All!
Mike

I guess first they should start thinking in switching off the lights during the night for no reason..... if they still do.
