Dear Working Group members,

Our report was presented on Monday night to the rest of the steering
committee.

We have been asked to greatly reduce the page count, and make many,
many editorial and content changes to each and every one of our
recommendations.

I will spend the weekend reworking each of the recommendations to fit
with what the steering committee members asked for.

I have asked Bruce to transfer the files from our Google Groups to the
wiki, and to upload each of your recommendations in full so that all
of your work is available for reference.
I will place links to this information in each of the revised
recommendations.

So, if you see the final report and it seems like I've stripped your
recommendations to the bone, please don't feel like your hard work has
not been valued - it absolutely has. We simply don't have a choice but
to present a format that's in line with the Steering Committee's
requirements.

Best wishes,
Aileen

As I wrote to Bruce, in the schools report, the only things that the city could possibly do is to prepare the roads and transportation to and from the school, the funding/grants for possible energy efficient equipment on campus, composting and recycling pickups from campus and possibly more public transportation to and from the schools and trains. We can take all the rest of the schools information out and I will disperse it to the schools as a separate report.

Good luck with that, Aileen! I understand the need to cut it down.
Thanks for the heads up.

Best,
Mike

Note to all re the files moved to the wiki:

Unlike the material in the task force report, we are, at least for
now, free to continue working on the files on the wiki, so, if you'd
like to add value to them, you can. For the sake of not having more
than one person working on a file at time, I suggest that you work
through me to "check files out" of the wiki for them to be worked on;
agreed?. Also, be sure that you don't work on files that are posted to
Google Groups/Docs that are also on the wiki. If important files in
Google should be moved to the wiki for future reference, let me know,
and I'm sure we can work something out. One cool aspect of having the
wiki available to use is that we can nest additional files under
existing ones. For example, if someone wants to write about solar
panel scoreboards for schools, that could be added to the wiki and
linked to from the main schools file, which, in turn, is cross
referenced to from our part of the final report.

Any questions?

Bye for now!
Bruce
