Hi All,

I attended an event this weekend (Oakland Art and Soul Festival) where the waste collection was coordinated by a group called "Green Mary".  It was very impressive with a big emphasis on all vendors only using compostable take-out food containers and flatware, lots of waste collection stations manned by volunteers, etc.  Here is a link to the web page: http://www.green-mary.com//index.php.  Mountain View should seriously consider partnering with this group, or something similar, for future community festivals and events.

Is there any talk of the city of MT. View developing a compost system possibly near our dump sites to start managing all this compostable material?
WE are using it now on our campus through the cafeteria but are still throwing it away due to lack of ability to recycle it.
Got any ideas?
Kirsten Hayes has a bunch of different school/office supplies made of recycled materials. i tried to contact the Gunn Green Team about selling them in their student store or on campus through their club. Kirsten is trying to get as many schools as possible to use them. Do you think that your office supply person already uses these type of materials?
