Has your group discussed awnings condition requirements?...

Hello Yvonne et al:
I've noticed for some time the dilapidated condition of the
"awnings" (if you can call them that any more) on the buildings at
Villa and Calderon (see http://groups.google.com/group/mv-sust-task-force-built/web/AwningsVillaCalderon.jpg).
Besides just looking bad, it seems to me that the occupants' air
conditioning is probably running harder than it has to as a result. I
looked at the City code for some kind of existing rule related to this
kind of thing and found nothing. Is this something you might include
in your recommendations? No need to respond; I just wanted to bring
this to your attention.

Bruce,
One of the issues we’re having is that we really only have 5 recommendations each for residential and commercial buildings. This would fall under one of our recommendations to “green” the city’s planning standards. We’ll put this on the list of green measures.
