** Background: I had a meeting two weeks ago with the Planning Dept. and the company (EDAW) hired by the City to incorporate climate change elements in our General Plan. EDAW was very interes ted in the Task Force’s work, and they wan ted to meet with the working groups to have a dialogue on each set of recommendations. They’re not expecting each WG to “present” their recommendations, but more to have a dialogue to learn which recommendations each WG feels should be in the General Plan vs. a Climate Action Plan (CAP). EDAW will be providing more information for you to review regarding what generally goes into a General Plan vs. a Climate Action Plan. (EDAW is scheduled to deliver a CAP in May/June 2010.) I was very exci ted by EDAW’s interest in the Task Force and their desire to help have the recommendations not “sit on the shelf” but actually be included in the GP or CAP. The timing is working out quite well.
Have a great weekend, and I’ll see you next Monday at 6:30pm!
Steve
