Dear Breeze Family

Find the communication with Dr Paula of RC Utah USA as briefed during the retreat.

I believe the club passed a vote that we go ahead and collaborate with them on this grant.

We will keep the club updated on all developments.

Kind regards,

OP Mary

Subject: From Paula to Mary re: More Information and Revised Approved Rotary Grant Proposal attached

Dear Mary,

I made the revisions to the approved Rotary Club Grant Proposal; it is attached. Thank you for reminding me of the correct name of your Club.

Here are your two questions, and the answers...

What self-reliance training will be offered to the 1000 families in Kampala & Western Uganda?

Director, Gerald Nasasira, has great experience and expertise teaching people, families, and participants in many organizations. He uses books, manuals, and training materials that I have sent him. (To see some of our work, visit www.ProsperityandPeace.org - the nonprofit I created years ago.)

What will be the role of the host club?

As you may know, Rotary grants of any kind (local/international/Global Grants) require a collaboration between two Clubs, and they require a local NGO. Last year I wanted, and tried, to send 1,500 educational books - free - to Uganda, and Gerald would distribute them in the villages. My Rotary Club was ready, as was I. However, even though the books would have been free, and the Sunrise Club would not be required to do anything but the necessary paperwork, they turned us down, and the books went elsewhere.

Now, I am proposing another wonderful project, and we have everything in place, if your Club will simply agree to collaborate with us, as you are kindly considering.

Your Club's role is simple. You will coordinate with me and my Club the money that will go through your Club directly to the NGO who will be doing all of the work: the Uganda Empowered Women Initiative. And, your Club will receive the gratitude of the American Rotary Club #24. The leaders of our Club may want to have one conversation with you, Mary, when the time is right, and after your Club has agreed to help us with this wonderful project.

Information (some is corrected) - also see attachment for full proposal:

Project Name: Global Prosperity and Peace Education: Sustainable Trainings on Self-Reliance/Strengthening Families.

Country: Uganda

2. In-Country Project Contacts:

  • Mary Muthigani, President of Rotary Club of Kampala Muyenga Breeze, Uganda
  • NGO: Uganda Empowered Women Initiative.
  • NGO Director, Gerald Nasasira, Uganda Empowered Women Initiative (UEWI)
  • Doreen Natamba – Volunteer, UEWI, Mbarara, Uganda

Host Club: Rotary Club of  Kampala Muyenga Breeze, Uganda

Other Coordinating Organizations: The (nonprofit) Uganda Empowered Women Initiative.

MaryI sincerely and deeply thank you and your Club for your consideration of my Club's request to help strengthen many people and families in Uganda.

P.S. My bio is attached, if you would like to learn more about me.

May your day be filled with peace and lots of love,

Good morning Rtn Paula

Thanks for grant proposal.

Like I mentioned am President of Rotary Club of Kampala Muyenga Breeze and not RC of Sunrise Kampala.

Can you shade more light on the project activities?  What self-reliance training will be offered to the 1000 families in Kampala & Western Uganda?

What will be the role of the host club?

Kind regards,

Dear Mary,

I hope this message finds you and your precious family safe and well.

I have attached the Grant Proposal that my Rotary Club (#24) in Salt Lake City approved.

I am very much hoping that on Tuesday your Rotary decision-makers will choose to allow my Club to send the money to the Empowered Women NGO, directed by Gerald Nasasira, through your Rotary Club, as described in the attached document.

Thank you so very, very much, Mary!

We have a club Retreat next Tuesday and I will present your request and revert  with our response.  I believe we should be able to help but I need this to be approved at Club level.

Dearest Mary,

Thank you for reaching out to me; I appreciate the wonderful work that you and your Club are doing in Kampala/Uganda.

It is not a Global Grant. It is a $4,000 USD Club Grant (just my Club in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA). We want 100% of the grant to go to the work of the NGO Empowered Women, Directed by Gerald Nasasira, for education purposes.

Gerald, a university graduate and a fine teacher, has been working with me for over a year - teaching self-reliance and strengthening families in many, many villages.

I visited Uganda and taught hundreds of women in several villages. My heart was deeply touched and I want to continue to help the people, and the families, in your great nation.

I approached my Club for a grant, and they agreed. However, the grant must go through another Rotary Club, and we are hoping and praying that you will agree to help us with this.

100% of the money will go to Gerald's teaching efforts. He has proven himself to be trustworthy and hard-working.

Please collaborate with my Club to allow Gerald to continue his work to teach and strengthen families.

Mary, thank you so very much! You can see the international work my nonprofit (NGO) does here: www.ProsperityandPeace.org.

I have been a Rotarian for many years and I speak for PEACE at some International Rotary Conventions.

I send you my love across the many miles..............

Dear Rtn Paula

Am current President of Rotary Club of Kampala Muyenga Breeze as Gilbert has introduced in his email below.

He called me today saying you had an approved Global Grant for a project in Uganda but you needed to work with a club on the ground.

We would need more information on the project and also need to understand the role of our club.

Will wait to hear more from you so we know the best way forward.  I have added some members of the Club Board on this discussion.

Warm regards,

Dearest Mama Paula,

I hope you are well and your morning is fine.

You have previously asked us about the grant you received from your Rotary club to help Gerald's organisation work in western Uganda, I am blessed to know Rotarian President Mary from the Rotary club of Kampala Muyenga Breeze. She is from a very supportive club and I am certain that she can help us to transfer the grant.

Kindly give her the information she needs.

To President Mary, Mama Paula Fellingham is a very active Rotarian who has previously been invited as a guest speaker in many rotary conventions across thr USA.

Much love,

Gilbert.
