Hi,
Please see below for details of a novel published this week, authored by one of our chess club regulars!
Available at all good bookstores (and Amazon, link below). Looks like an interesting summer read.
Hope everyone is enjoying the good weather in the meantime.

Subject: a dream of lockdown
Mr David Stoll, with his usual roundabout way of going at things, has asked me to bring to your attention his new book, A DREAM OF LOCKDOWN. Mr Stoll claims that this is his first ‘novel’, even though he (or someone rather like him) appears
in it to tell the three interlinked stories. That might just about satisfy the requirements of fiction, but Mr Stoll also (again, or someone who is probably not him) inserts comments and considerations about his music, his attempts to play chess and numerous
other oddments that he has the gall to call ‘relevant’ to his thesis.
The only reason I agreed to help with this so-called ‘publicity exercise’ is that Mr Stoll also usefully includes in the book some excerpts from my own Journal. That, I can assure you, is well worth reading. As my musings are not to be published until after
my death, the opportunity to see some fragments now, however ill-chosen, is obviously valuable.
I am informed that I must alert you, in an off-the-cuff way, to ‘links’
which enable instant purchase of this book. Apparently, copies of the text are available conventionally printed on paper and bound into a volume. But they also may be obtained in a form for downloading straight into the fire, saving you the bother of doing
that yourself with the book.
A DREAM OF LOCKDOWN is ‘out’ today. I know that Mr Stoll will be embarrassed if I say, Read it if you must, but Buy it anyway.
