Below are the famous traditions which are widely spread among the Muslims about the month of Rajab. It is aberrant that people follow and spread these traditions without verifying the authenticity and rejecting the comments of the scholars that these are munkar narrations which shouldn't be followed or shared with people.

The first 6 narrations are mentioned by Imam Jalaluddin Suyuti rahimahullah in his book Al Jami’ Al Sagheer.

-------------------------------------------------------

Narration 1:

IN THE GARDEN OF PARADISE THERE IS A RIVER CALLED RAJAB, WHITER THAN MILK AND SWEETER THAN HONEY. WHOEVER FASTS FOR ONE DAY [DURING THE MONTH OF] RAJAB, ALLAH WILL GIVE HIM DRINK FROM THAT RIVER.

(Translated by sister Shawana Aziz) Shaikh Ibn al-Uthaimeen (rahimahullah) said concerning this narration,

"Forget the weak narrations which are mentioned about Rajab, (amongst which is) the narration which says that the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) used to say upon entering the month of Rajab,

"اللهم بارك لنا في رجب وشعبان وبلغنا رمضان"

My brothers, Listen to what I say.

This is a Da'eef (weak) Munkar (denounced) narration that is NOT authentically reported from the Prophet.

One should therefore, NOT supplicate with this Du'aa because it is NOT authentically reported from the Prophet..."
