Dear David,

I'm getting the following two errors when trying to extract the context layer model:

either

Error while generating context layer model.

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/batik/util/XMLConstants

or

Error while generating context layer model.

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/batik/dom/util/DOMUtilities

Opening the resulting .svg file with Google Chrome gives me this message:

This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

The context tree model generation is perfect.

Sincerely,
Viktor

Hi Viktor,

from the subject line I gather that you installed MPS into an existing 2019-09 Eclipse installation. The error message indicates that MPS is not compatible with the Batik SVG library which is delivered with Eclipse 2019-09. The latest MPS version (currently 1.5.1) is built against the Eclipse 2019-03 distribution, and it seems like there was an incompatible change in Batik since.

Now there are two options:
- Either use the standalone MPS application or
- Wait for a new major MPS release. This will be based on Eclipse 2019-09. Hopefully I will find time for this in the next couple of weeks.

Best regards
Dave

I forgot to mention:
- there is the third option to install MPS into an existing 2019-03 Eclipse.

Hi Viktor,

MPS 1.6.0 was released today. It is based on Eclipse 2019-09 and the error should be gone hopefully.

I should add that this was not caused by an incompatible change in Batik. The reason is that the MPS update site delivered a mixture of different Batik versions (1.9.1 and 1.11.x). Now the same version is provided consistently. Please report if you still have problems with SVG generation.

Best
Dave
