JOB: Associate, Full or Distinguished Professor - Historical Performance Practice, The City University of New York

The DMA Program in Music Performance of The Graduate Center, The City University of New York, seeks nominations/applications for an experienced scholar in historical performance practice. The Graduate Center, located in midtown Manhattan, has some 4000 students enrolled in 34 doctoral programs and 7 master's programs. The Doctoral Program in Music, offering concentrations in musicology, theory, composition, ethnomusicology, and performance, draws its faculty from The Graduate Center as well as from a number of colleges in the CUNY system.
--Conduct doctoral seminars and direct dissertations in various areas of music, including historical performance practice.

--Perform teaching, research, and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise as noted below.  Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments, performing administrative, supervisory, and other functions as may be assigned.

*Qualifications:*

Minimum Qualifications

For Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor designations: Ph.D. degree in area(s) of expertise, or equivalent as noted below.  Also required are the ability to teach successfully, interest in productive scholarship or creative achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates should be experienced scholars possessing qualifications appropriate to appointment as an Associate Professor, Professor, or Distinguished Professor. We invite applications from candidates doing work in baroque, classical, and/or romantic era performance issues.

Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

FLSA Status: Exempt
