TRANS-Transcultural Music Review 15 (2011)
present a special issue dedicated to
interdisciplinary research on Women and Music,
coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the

Ethnomusicology-SIBE, coordinated by Susan Campos
Fonseca (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid-UAM).

We are accepting original articles on this topic

constructions of gender and sexuality, gender
aspects of traditional music theory; gender and
sexuality in the musical narrative; music as a
discourse of gender; discourse strategies of the
"women musicians"; canonical matters and practice
of canon. Related works are also considered since
the Cultural Studies and Historical Musicology.

Articles may be written in Spanish, English,
French, Italian or Portuguese. Deadline for
