The School of Music at UNC Greensboro welcomes applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Conducting/Director of Orchestras position beginning August 1, 2022. This position has the possibility of a one-year extension depending on institutional needs. We seek a versatile conductor/performer/scholar actively engaged in advancing inclusion, equity, and access and celebrating cultural diversity.

Responsibilities:
Conducting the UNCG University Symphony Orchestra; Conducting the UNCG Sinfonia; Conducting the UNCG Opera; teaching conducting at the undergraduate level; collaborating in the teaching and administration of a comprehensive instrumental ensemble program; actively recruiting music students from the state of North Carolina and beyond. Additional areas of teaching and service may be determined depending on the School’s needs, candidates’ individual interests, qualifications, and expertise. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an interest in all students and an understanding of how to work effectively with faculty colleagues to enhance the offerings of a dynamic School of Music.
