The Musicology and Ethnomusicology Department at Boston University seeks an adjunct instructor to teach a 3-credit, graduate-level course in the Spring semester, CFAMH 635 Special Topics in Romantic Period Music. As a special topics course, the instructor could adapt it to any topic within the music of the Romantic period — a survey of a the work of a single composer, or a group of composers, or a style, or a particular form, or any other topic that could be useful for a constituency of about 20 MM and DMA students, mostly performers, seeking to satisfy a music history requirement. The course meets MW 12:20-1:35, and pays at the union scale, beginning at $1850 per credit ($5550 total) for junior scholars and increasing depending on experience. PhD strongly preferred.

Applicants should send a CV, the names of two recommenders, and some potential ideas for the class theme to Prof. Michael Birenbaum Quintero, Chair of the Musicology & Ethnomusicology Department with the subject line "Romantic Music Course.” Applications will be considered until the position is filled.
