On the website "abc Analysis of Bach Chorales" (www.bachchoral.com) 186 four-part chorales by Johann Sebastian Bach (BWV 253 to BWV 438, Chorales for Four Voices) are now available with functional harmonic analysis.

Their publication is intended to provide connoisseurs and notably pupils and students in musical education at universities, music colleges, conservatories and other educational institutions with challenging musical material that can be used, among other things, to rehearse functional harmonic analyses.

The authors are well aware that one does not approach the heart and soul of the Bach chorales with a functional harmonic analysis alone; the spirit of the thorough bass and the counterpoint is essentially inherent in them.

All 186 chorales uploaded WITHOUT functional harmonic analysis (pdf-files) are free of charge, all these chorales uploaded WITH functional harmonic analysis (pdf-files) are available subject to charge (3.00 Euro per chorale).

All 186 chorals WITH functional harmonic analysis can be ordered as a complete package from the contact listed below at a special price of 150.00 Euro (savings of over 70%).

In order to also get an acoustic impression of the chorales, each chorale is existing as an audio file (mp3 respectively wave file).
