This is a reminder for the call for papers for the 2024 AMS Pre-Conference Symposium "Beyond Contrafacts: Broadening Approaches to Musical Borrowing, Intertextuality, and Re-Creation," to be held at the Palmer House Hotel, Chicago IL, from 12–6pm CT on Wednesday, November 13th and from 9–11am CT on Thursday, November 14th. The deadline for submissions is July 15th, with notifications expected by early August.

Panels will consist of lightning talks focusing on topics regarding contrafacture and wider connections to musical re-creation, reuse, and borrowing. Presentations will be limited to 10 minutes, allowing for ample discussion following each session.

Applications may be submitted online via the Contrafact Symposium Submission Form (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScLf15pC4Z2xO_F0g9xN01a9zQ-sDhW12lO82fqctwAPl_PoQ/viewform). Abstracts should concisely outline the findings and methodology of the project, not to exceed 200 words.
