Please note: The Progect conference initially planned for May 2020 was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are now going forward with planning for May 2021. The 2021 program will include conference papers that were accepted for the 2020 conference, as well as newly proposed papers.

Progressive Rock and Metal: Towards a Contemporary Understanding aims to explore the past and present contexts of the genres of progressive rock and metal. This conference will bring together scholars who have addressed the musical structures and expression of 1970s progressive rock, as well as scholars working on the more contemporary manifestations of the progressive. We encourage submissions from scholars from a range of disciplinary orientations.
Submission Procedure:
For papers that were accepted to the May 2020 conference, delegates are asked to send confirmation that they intend to present the same paper in May 2021. For delegates who would prefer to submit a new proposal, please follow the instructions below.
Scholars are invited to submit proposals for 20-minute presentations in French or English to progectconference2021 -at-
gmail.com by 1 October 2020.

1) a proposal comprising only the paper title and abstract (300 words; 350 if submitted in French). (This file should not include any identifying information.)
