The University of Toronto Faculty of Music seeks a two-year, full-time postdoctoral researcher in musicology with a specialization in nineteenth-century French lyric theatre (opera, operetta, ballet, féerie, etc.) for the academic years 2022–23 and 2023–24 to work alongside Prof. Sarah Gutsche-Miller. The successful candidate will conduct an active program of research resulting in the submission of proposals to research conferences, the submission of articles to academic journals, or participation in other scholarly projects; teach one course for the Faculty of Music in the second
year; deliver a colloquium to the faculty; and participate in other faculty activities.

Application deadline: June 15, 2022
Value and Duration: $60,000 per year ($52K salary plus $8K research expenses) for two years.
Required Legal Status: Domestic or International
Results: July 2022

1. Statement of research intent (maximum two pages) describing the proposed research project and demonstrating the complementarity between the research interests/background of the supervisor and applicant, as well as possible topics for the course to be taught in the second year.

3. Two letters of recommendation

Results of the competition will be communicated to prospective postdoctoral candidates in July 2022.
