MA RITUAL CHANT AND SONG: SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE
Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, University of Limerick
We are pleased to invite applications for a one-year MA in Ritual Chant and Song. Western plainchant is the core repertoire studied, and the programme is associated with Glenstal Abbey, a local Benedictine monastery. Students have the opportunity to learn
chant with internationally renowned professional early music performers, and vocal study is contextualised by seminars in palaeography, liturgy, medieval history, ritual studies and ethnomusicology. Students may choose to work towards a final performance,
a final dissertation, or both.
Non-EU students may apply for Stepping Stones Scholarships which are worth up to a full fee waiver (international fees). The deadline for applications is
4pm Friday 24th February.
All students may apply for one of three general Stepping Stones Scholarships, each worth €1,000. The deadline for applications is 4pm Friday 26th May.
