JOB: Williams College, Visiting Assistant Professor in Music

The Department of Music at Williams College announces a one-semester Visiting Assistant Professor in musicology position for fall 2022. Candidates may have expertise in any period of European music history before 1900.

DUTIES: Teach two courses in European music history in any pre-1900 period.

QUALIFICATIONS: PhD in musicology/music history. Doctorate must be in hand by September 2022. Teaching experience at the undergraduate level is desirable.

DEPARTMENT: The Music Department has 11 full-time faculty and approximately 40 part-time Artist Associates and Artists in Residence. The Department maintains an active musical life with approximately 100 events each year including those by the Berkshire Symphony, Concert and Chamber Choirs, Jazz Ensemble, Zambezi Marimba Band, Kusika, Williams Wind Ensemble, Williams Chamber Players, I/O New Music, Chinese Music Ensemble, student chamber groups, and visiting artists and ensembles.
