The Capital Chapter of the American Musicological Society invites proposals for papers and lecture-recitals for its Virtual Fall Meeting, to be held via Zoom on Saturday, October 21, 2023. Submissions are welcome across all areas of musicological research from faculty, independent scholars, and graduate or undergraduate students of any discipline. Papers and lecture-recitals will be limited to 20 minutes followed by a 10-minute question-and-answer period.
Submissions need only include a title and an abstract (of approximately 250 words) in an attached PDF or Word document. Applicants may submit only one proposal per meeting. Presenters must be members of the American Musicological Society.
Regarding the Zoom format, presenters will have the option of delivering their paper live with screen- and audio-sharing capabilities or submitting a pre-recorded video of their presentation. The Q&A period will be live and moderated.
Email proposals to chapter chair Aaron Ziegel, aziegel -at- towson.edu, by noon on Monday, September 11, 2023. Proposals will be anonymized and circulated to the program committee for review. Decisions of the program committee will be announced by Monday, September 18, 2023.
