The AMS seeks two summer 2021 interns to support various communications and programming initiatives aimed at expanding our understanding of music and sound through research, teaching, learning, and advocacy.

Reporting to the AMS Office Manager and working with the Communications and Programs Coordinator, interns will assist in updating the website, organizing and archiving digital resources, building forms and templates, and performing other related work as needed. Candidates should possess strong organizational and research skills; have an interest in humanities scholarship; and be comfortable using or learning to use digital content management systems. Existing interest and training in musicology preferred.

Interns will work remotely with staff members and participate in regular video conferences, communicating with team members through e-mail, Zoom, and shared documents on Google Drive and Dropbox.

Interns will be expected to work 30 hours a week for approximately 10 weeks during the summer. Compensation has been set at $20/hour. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or international students studying in the U.S., who are legally authorized to work. To apply, send a résumé and cover letter to the AMS office at a...@amsmusicology.org. Include "Summer Internship Application" in the subject line and submit by 23 April 2021.
