The School of Music at the University of Delaware invites applications for an adjunct instructor of music history for the Fall 2023 semester. The course for this fall is MUSC101: Music Appreciation (3 credits), and meets MWF from 9:10–10:05 on our Newark campus. The instructor will have a fair amount of flexibility and latitude in designing the course, and the music history area is committed to pedagogical and collegial support for one another.

The pay scale is $1753 per credit for Instructor (no doctorate) and $1980 for Assistant (with doctorate). There is also a $100 per course supplement if the commute is more than 50 miles. Further information about adjunct faculty compensation and benefits can be found at https://sites.udel.edu/generalcounsel/policies/adjunct-faculty/

A PhD in musicology or related discipline is preferred but not required. To apply for this position, please send a brief letter and CV with references to Phil Gentry (pgentry -at- udel.edu).
