The Department of Performing Arts at Georgetown University invites applications for a full-time, one-year Assistant Teaching Professor (Non-Tenure Line) position in Music for the 2025–2026 academic year.

We seek a musicologist or ethnomusicologist with experience teaching at the undergraduate level. Areas of teaching may include music theory, jazz history, ethnography, writing about music, and/or music and media studies. The position carries a 3–3 teaching load, contributing to the American Musical Cultures major and the Music Program’s core and upper-level curriculum.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Musicology, Ethnomusicology, or related field by start date (ABD considered); demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching; active research or creative work. Commitment to inclusive pedagogy strongly encouraged.
