help needed installing Frescobaldi

Paul Morris (or anyone elso who knows) I'm trying to install Frescobaldi for creating Clairnote scores. However it seems I must also install a host of Python variations.
Is this really necessary? It used to be much simpler I remember.

Just caught up with your question.  

I'm also having trouble with Lilypond,

But vs. C++, not Python.

They may have changed things.
