Hi friend,
Today I’m heading for Musick Creek to camp for the weekend with 15 or 20 people. We had all so very wanted to have a bigger campout to celebrate the new ownership of Musick by our new nonprofit!
Everyone on this list and beyond was going to be encouraged to come this year.
Instead, people on the discussion list were invited and we ended up with a population we expect can meet together safely in the space available. We are sad that we can’t have any big events anywhere, no matter how much celebrating we feel like doing. No concerts at Joanna’s in the Haight. No concerts at Pat’s in Fresno. Not even a slide show at my place with a salmon feast.
When we put out word in 2018 and 2019 that we wanted to raise the money and buy Musick, a lot of people asked us, Where’s the money go if we don’t get enough to buy it? My reply was always, We’ll get it! And if not… community loans! That guaranteed that every cent donated would help create this preserve.
We’ll that is indeed what happened. Which means:
1) Musick Creek Confluence owns Musick Creek property now!
2) More cents are needed, to pay off those loans.
3) We are starting to plan for the future! You can help!
Some of you felt that until we had actually received the loans, you might be throwing donations away. At this point, of course, your contribution is guaranteed 100% to go to property preservation. And you get a tax write-off. And we have more ways than before to donate (scroll onward!).
So please do go ahead and give a steaming hot donation!
