Dear all,

Last year we were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Professor Robert M. Keller, who passed away on September 13th 2020. Bob gave so much to the computational creativity community, as a good friend and mentor to many and a strong supporter of the ICCC conference series (International Conference on Computational Creativity). We published a tribute to Bob on the ACC (Association of Computational Creativity) website

The AIMC community also remembered Bob Keller at AIMC'2020, just after his passing. Bob was a steering committee member for AIMC and also previously for MuMe.

We will remember Bob at the ICCC’21 conference (Mexico, September 2021), recognising his contributions and celebrating his memory. This will be in the form of a video compilation of tributes from people who wish to contribute.

We invite you now to contribute your videos with memories and tributes to Bob, if you wish. All contributions welcomed.

To do this, please:

  • record a short (max 3 minutes) video, with your personal tribute to Bob Keller

  • send the video file to Anna Jordanous and Maya Ackerman (emails below)  via a method suitable for transferring large files. (Email attachments will probably not be sufficient.) For example, you could set up a free weTransfer account. Please use a format such as MP4 or other common video format that we can process.

  • If we do not acknowledge receipt in the following week, please do check in with us!

Please send by DEADLINE: August 31st 2021.

We will compile a video edited together from everyone’s contributions and play it as part of a session remembering Bob at ICCC’21. For those not able to attend ICCC’21, we will also publish the video publically afterwards.

(Please do not include in your video any content which you are not happy for us to publish and broadcast publicly. We may need to edit your video slightly when we compile the final video, e.g. for length or colour balance; in sending us the video you give us permission to edit your video unless you specifically instruct otherwise. We do not anticipate we will want to make many edits to people’s videos, as we want the final video to be a faithful portrayal of people’s tributes and memories of Bob.)

Any problems or questions, please do contact Anna Jordanous a.k.jo...@kent.ac.uk  or Maya Ackerman mack...@scu.edu

Warm regards,

Maya Ackerman and Anna Jordanous

PS Please do feel free to forward this to any contacts you feel might like to contribute.

Dear all, this is a gentle reminder that we are collecting short video tributes to Bob Keller by 31 August 2021 please. We will make the resulting compiled video publicly available on a platform like YouTube, so that it's available after the conference session.

Many thanks,
Anna Jordanous and Maya Ackerman
