We invite the music-technology academic community to share their educational experiences in teaching sound and music interaction design in higher education.

This initiative is a first attempt to create a wide-ranging picture of educational approaches, and its outcomes will contribute to a deeper understanding of pedagogical practices in New Interfaces for Musical Expression (NIME) and Sound Music Computing (SMC) contexts, with a focus on Instrument Design research.

For the purpose of this survey, the term Sound and Music Interaction is understood broadly, referring to systems or devices that integrate sensing and human interaction, where music and sound are core elements. This includes (but is not limited to) Digital Musical Instruments (DMI), technologies for musical creation and live performance, interactive installations and artworks, applications in rehabilitation, wellness, or wellbeing, as well as gaming. We aim to include a wide range of perspectives, practices, and educational contexts.

The survey should take approximately 45 minutes to complete and will remain open for two months. It is possible to resume your progress using the same link.

We appreciate that contributing to this survey takes time and effort; as a token of thanks, participants will have the chance to enter a draw to win a Bela Gem Stereo Starter Kit.

Please feel free to forward this survey to colleagues or academic networks whose participation could help enrich our research.

We look forward to your valuable contribution!
