Call For Papers: Frontiers Article Collection on “New Advances and Novel Applications of Music Technologies for Health, Well-Being, and Inclusion”

Dear colleagues [with apologies for cross-posting!], 

We are delighted to announce the launch of a new Research Topic in Frontiers in Computer Science and Frontiers in Psychology: New Advances and Novel Applications of Music Technologies for Health, Well-Being, and Inclusion

This topic is now open to submissions (soft deadline for abstracts: September 15th 2022, deadline for full manuscripts: December 1st 2022). 

We welcome submissions of original scientific research and case studies on the design, creation, use, and evaluation of new sound and music technologies supporting healthcare and well-being, both within and outside of clinical practice. Contributions are encouraged in, but not limited to, the following topics: 

  • Music-based applications supporting health, care, and accessibility in music technology

  • Accessible Digital Musical Instruments (ADMIs)

  • Research methods in health-related sound and music research (including evidence-based methods for designing and reporting health-related studies)

  • The use of music technology in music therapy

  • Tools and methods to support creation/playing/recording of music for all

  • Multimodal interaction and multisensory music perception

  • Personally-tailored music experiences
