ABOUT the ARTIST
  • Mangala Sane is a "Sangeet Visharad" from Gandharwa Maha Vidyalay, Mumbai.
  • She is the founder of "Sargam School of Vocal Classical and Light Music."
  • She has been teaching music for last 14 years from her residence in Houston, Texas.
  • She is teaching the vocal north indian classical music and variety of light music in English such as Hindi/Urdu gazals, Hindi/Marathi songs, folks songs.
  • She also teaches keyboard and harmonium lessons in English.
  • She also gives vocal Karokee hindi music lessons.
  • She has to her credit one professional recording of Mera Bai bhajan (tape -'Bhakti Sangam') and has a CD of Hindi/Urdu gazahals and film songs called "KHAZANA".
  • She has a small group called 'Kalki Yaadein' for private concerts.
  • Also, her son Mandar Sane (512-789-3159) performs in professional concerts and plays Tabla, Guitar, American Drums and Punjabi Dhols.
  • Mandar has a CD of his music and composes music and tracks for Shunya Theater Dramas. Her husband Shrikant Sane performs in a group and sings Mukesh songs.
  • Their group is available for private concerts such as wedding or other occations.
  • The CD "KHAJANA" or tape "BHAKTI SANGAM" are available for purchase.

ABOUT the ARTIST
  • Tarak Nath Mishra is a reknowned Sitar Player was born in Calcutta on 11th November 1967 in musical family.
  • From his childhood he devoted himself to the learning of the art of classical music.
  • When he was beginner he started to learn vocal to his father Pt. Kedar Nath Mishra also was great reknowned Sarangi Player.
  • When he was at ten, he undertook the lessons of “Banaras Gharana Sitar Playing” from his Guru Pt. Shiv Nath Mishra for a long time.
  • His guru imparted lesson from 1977.
  • He also learnt the Thumri style from Thumri Sammrat Pt. Mahadev Prasad Mishra.
  • He obtained the coveted title of “Praveen” in sitar playing from Prayag Sangeet Samity, Allahabad.
  • He has given stage performance in so many big cities like Varanasi, Delhi, Mumbai, Allahabad, Kushinagar, Gorakhpur, Chennai, Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Ahmadabad, Pune, Nagpur, Patna, Bhopal, Meerut, Bhubaneswar, Dehradun etc.
  • At present he is teacher in sitar playing.
  • His mother Smt. Ramapati Mishra also gives her inspiration to him to make a smooth and strong music carrier.
  • He has given stage performance in Utter Pradesh Sangeet Natak Academy, Lucknow, in 1981 to 1982.
  • He gives his performance in Bharat Bharti Parishad, Varanasi in 1981.
  • He has played sitar in city Mahotsava 1996, in Varanasi.
  • He has played for “Sri Ram Das Baba Smiriti Pushakar Sangeet Samaroh” in Chennai.
  • He has played many Mahotsava like Ganga Mahotsava 1998.
  • In junior chamber Mahotsava Varanasi 1997.
  • He also joined the great “Raj Mangal Pandey” based program in Kushinagar.
  • He has been a Sitar teacher/performer for more than 20 years.
  • He has also worked as a Music Teacher in India and also worked with Doordarshan and AIR (All India Radio).
  • He has also given solo and group song performances at different festivals and institutes in India and was a radio artist in Lucknow
  • Individual and group classes are available for students of all ages and levels.
