ATTENDEES: Laura Klein, Randie Paterno, Andy Stevens, Cindy Zahl

NOTES:

Venture, Cost and Time:

Taking advantage of using Crawford pk mansion during the week to host a singer/songwriter type series. Since this is to benefit the Friends of Crawford Park the venue is free, but we have to work around their schedule a bit.

We talked about charging $18 in advance and $23 at the door. Laura is going to look into cost of online ticket sales.

Suggested time would be a Thursday night b/tw 7:30-10pm

This would be a monthly series - with the goal of raising about $900-$1000/month for Crawford Park.

Suggested TENTATIVE date is Sept 19th / 26th. Laura mentioned that the Run for Crawford Park is on Sept 29th, so she might be stretched thin that month.

Sound and Stage:

We talked about the acoustics inside the mansion and how the sound carries. This could be great for an acoustic, but might not work for big, loud band - Andy suggested two speakers  on either side of the "stage"

We would need to rent lights and PA - Andy will look into those costs.

We can sell pastries and coffee - Cindy is going to talk to pastry chef to see if she wants to sell her stuff at the event.

Much conversation revolved around alcohol. We are permitted to let people BYOB but don't know if we can advertise that. Randie is going to investigate BYOB regulations. Should we get temp. liquor license, does that mean we have to hire police?

The Stage would be the in what was the library and the chairs will be set up in the main room. Crawford park has over 200 folding chairs we can access.

Budget:

Laura suggested $1000 as a budget for the show. She will pitch this expense at the next Friends of Crawford Park board meeting.

Let's say we get 100 people to the show at $20/head = $2000 - $1000 cost = $1000 net income

The talent:

We are all tasked with finding acts that they would like to see perform, getting a demo "tape" and forwarding it to Laura - (we also need to ID who would be booking these acts.)

Also, we should try to get out and see more live acts around Westchester. Chris Bro's allthingsnext.com <http://allthingsnext.com>  is a good source, Walkabout CoffeeHouse in White Plains is another.

Also, Laura mentioned BandCamp.com <http://BandCamp.com>  which is a cool website for up and coming artists.
