well.. it's been and gone and it looks like everyone survived the 2008
summer school and and Newstead Folk Festival as well. No Broken
Bones. No Broken Reeds. I even survived Cyclone Monica with only a few
Bruises!...............
Mike and Beth are to be congratulated for once again putting together
a great school.
I know we keep on saying every year that the last school was the best
yet, but ever since i've been coming this certainly was the best yet.I
cannot remember a school that was this relaxed....even the Scots
Fiddlers SAT DOWN and played rather than standing up...
The Teachers that Mike and Beth keep on getting to come and the
quality of instruction is certainly world class.....Well Done and
Thank you.
We, the Pipers certainly had fun and we hope those who visited &
dared to run where angels fear to tread, ie Father Jack's Cabin , also
had a ball. We are a welcoming bunch....bring a drink and we will
always welcome anyone.
I will be Posting some Pictures from the School and from Newstead in
the next week or so , i still have some processing to do.There won't
be as many as last year but i'll post them in the same format and if
anyone wants a copy i'm happy to send a copy of the original source
file.
If you have trouble downloading them i' ll be happy to burn them to a
disk and post them.
And so, onward to next year and 2009, and may we see everyone again
safe'n'sound, old friends and new, when once again we meet & make
music under the Southern Cross
