2014 Indiana University Annual Symposium of Research in Music

Hosted by the Graduate Theory Association

Jacobs School of Music, Bloomington, Indiana

February 21-22, 2014

The Indiana University Graduate Theory Association is pleased to announce its 2014 Symposium of Research in Music to take place Friday and Saturday, February 21 and 22, in Ford-Crawford Recital Hall on the Bloomington campus of Indiana University.  We are very happy to welcome Professor Dora Hanninen (University of Maryland) as our keynote speaker.

We are currently soliciting proposals relevant to any subfield of music theory and analysis.  Papers may address any musical repertoire, as we hope to feature a wide variety.  

Paper presentations will be twenty minutes in length, followed by ten minutes for questions.  We also encourage the submission of posters, special panels, and non-traditional formats for presentations.  The deadline for proposals is Friday, December 6.

Submissions should include:

1.  A 500-word proposal submitted by email in Word or PDF format to jrje...@indiana.edu.  Only electronic submissions will be accepted.  No identifying information may be included in the proposal itself.  Please place any examples, figures, or bibliographies at the end of the proposal.

2.  A cover letter listing the author's name, address, telephone number, email address, and affiliation, as well as all required equipment, such as a piano, projector, CD player, etc.
