Musicognition III - Music as Medicin

USJ cordially invites you to attend the Conference Musicognition III -
Music as Medicine that will take place on December 15, 2011 in our
university campus. This will be the third edition of Musicognition, a
meeting of experts that will discuss about the relationship between
music and the brain. The first two editions explored the connection
between music and emotions and gave an introduction to recent studies
on music and the brain. Audiences made of students, teachers and other
participants from Macau and abroad show that there is much interest
for this new branch of neuroscience and musicology.

The one day conference, coordinated by Professor Aurelio Porfiri, USJ,
will focus, this year, on the topic "Music as Medicine". So, the use
of music as relief for disease and the discipline of Music Therapy
will be at the center of the discussion. Experts coming from India,
Japan, Hong Kong and Macau, including profesors of the University of
Saint Joseph, will present their findings about this relevant topic.

We hope also this edition will meet the success of the previous ones
