Hi there.

I was wondering if I could get metadata (Artist/Song)-"#EXTINF" line
from an extended .m3u list for .wav files?
Afaik some apps are able to do that.

(Please avoid comments like: Use flay or mp3) ;)

Example (Just quickly made a small script, which generates .m3u for my
entire collection build from filenames):

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:233,Amos_Lee - Supply_and_Demand
Amos_Lee-Supply_and_Demand-2006/01-Amos_Lee-Supply_and_Demand-
Shout_Out_Loud.wav
#EXTINF:188,Amos_Lee - Supply_and_Demand
Amos_Lee-Supply_and_Demand-2006/02-Amos_Lee-Supply_and_Demand-
Sympathize.wav
#EXTINF:189,Amos_Lee - Supply_and_Demand
Amos_Lee-Supply_and_Demand-2006/03-Amos_Lee-Supply_and_Demand-
Freedom.wav
#EXTINF:286,Amos_Lee - Supply_and_Demand
Amos_Lee-Supply_and_Demand-2006/04-Amos_Lee-Supply_and_Demand-
Careless.wav
#EXTINF:140,Amos_Lee - Supply_and_Demand

Unfortunately, this is out of my hands on the client side. Playlists and tags are handled by MPD itself, Minion never reads the actual file. I think I saw in the mpd bug tracker that tag support has been added to mpd, I'm not sure if it is in a release version yet.

I do have an idea though which may be better. I could add a feature where tags are guessed by filename when there are no tags available. I had actually done this once before in my first attempt at a firefox client that was replaced by minion, I should be able to dig up the logic I had worked out and re-implement it.

I meant to say tag support for .wav files...

Just compiled latest git. Won't show anything - at least on the Minion side it stays blank.

Perhaps  I just need to figure out how it's supposed to work. Any ideas?

I think you should have support for tags in .wav files now, but this is assuming your .wav files actually have tags written to them.  If they do have tags, you would need to recreate the mpd database to get mpd to re-read the files:

mpd --create-db

If mpd loads the tags, Minion will show them.

Here is where I saw it mentioned:
